London, soon

UntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitled

I'm trying to make the most out of my last days in Vienna. Cycling, hanging out in parks, skating, singing. And quite a lot of thinking.
I'm moving to London at the end of the week. It's a big change for me, so big that I don't feel like discussing it on the internet, but it feels good. I'm looking forward to exploring the city but I'm also a little nervous about starting out on this new life by myself. So if you have any tips, do let me know. I'd be ever so grateful for any recommendations re: cafés, bookshops, secret parks, cheap cinemas, really good Italian restaurants, and where to buy nice loose-leaf tea.

  2. I haven't been to London for years, but a friend of mine works at Beatroot (http://beatroot.org.uk/) and it seems really nice. Good luck to you!

  3. Alles Gute!

  5. Brilliant news! I think you would like: Violet Cakes in Hackney for afternoon tea, Hackney Picturehouse on Monday and Tuesday for cheap films, a nice tea shop (I forget its name) in Broadway Market for tea, and lovely food at Railroad Hackney for dinner. I am yet to find any very good Italian in London so will check back for other people's reccs! As for secret parks, it is very nice to take a lunchtime lounging in Hackney City Farm or the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden, or walking round the Abney Park cemetery in Stoke Newington. Good luck with your move! X

    1. Hurrah, thank you! All of these sound great. I plan on using your guide to Hackney a lot as well.
(I'm actually sitting at Violet's right now, enjoying my day off...)
