Some things I've done in that forest:
1. When we were children, we went sledding in the winter.
2. There's a tower on top of the hill from which you can see the entire city and the hills surrounding it. I've been there to see the sunrise, the sunset, to clear my head, to impress boys, to get over heartache.
3. We sat on the bench next to the swamp-like pond when my soon-to-be boyfriend kissed me for the first time.
4. Once I got lost. The only thing I found were hornets.
When I was younger, Tonke Dragt's novels were my favourite books (apart from Astrid Lindgren's novels). Boys walk around in forests. I always felt like that when I was ten, as if there was an epic adventure hidden behind the next tree. Forests and the top of a hill or mountain so that you can see the forest from above, that's what I like. Now if only I had a horse and a sword...
