(Indietracks disco tent photo by Luise!)

I saw ABBA on TV last night. They were performing Dancing Queen for the first time on the occassion of the Swedish king's wedding, dressed in silly costumes. It is made of so much epic win, I love it. So: Favourite possibly embarrassing non-indie girlpopsongs that make you want to jump and sing along and do a little karaoke routine in front of a bewildered audience on the train? (ABBA is not that embarrassing, mind you.)

Natalie Imbruglia - Torn
Taylor Swift - You Belong With Me
Rihanna - Disturbia
Lady Gaga - Telephone
Girls Aloud - Biology
All Saints - Pure Shores
The literal version video of Total Eclipse of the Heart just for the lulz.

  1. Yes to All Saints, and add some Sugababes (Freak Like Me, Round Round, Hole in the Head), some Beyonce (Put a ring on it), Holly Valance (Kiss Kiss) and Kylie (2 hearts, wow, can't get you out of my head).

And if I could speak French:

um, I might be a total pop whore.

  2. Oh my god I totally forgot about Beyonce, how is that even possible? Love those Sugababes songs as well, and 2 Hearts! Listening to the other songs now. Yes yes yes!!!

  3. Ha, every time "Torn" is playing somewhere I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, to discover that I know every single word of it. I'll add No Doubt's "Spiderwebs", Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" and Madonna's "Like a virgin". (Thanks for your comment--indeed I am of a fan of the Fraulein!)
